Dr. Colleen Lewis is board-certified by the America Board of Medical Laboratory Immunology and is currently the Science Director of the Immunology Department at Quest Diagnostics Nichols Institute in Chantilly, Virginia. She received her B.S. in Biology from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania and worked for three years as a Medical Technologist in the Molecular Virology lab at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. Dr. Lewis then earned her Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University, School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio in Immunology. Her thesis work explored the role of oxidation in the immune response to Bacteroides fragilis and was funded through a pre-doctoral fellowship awarded by the Chronic Granulomatous Disorder (CGD) Research Trust. She then completed a two-year CPEP fellowship in Clinical Immunology at Rosalind Franklin University near Chicago, Illinois before joining Quest Diagnostics in 2012 as Associate Science Director of the Immunology/Serology Department. Dr. Lewis has been a member of AMLI since 2011 and is currently part of the Membership Committee.
